Gerês Hiking Trip: The Sarilhão Eagle Trail

Inserted in an important area of ​​the National Park, this trail approaches places of interest such as the Sarilhão cliff, the Mata da Albergaria (Biosphere Reserve) and the extinct submerged community village of Vilarinho da Furna.

This pedestrian trail extends over flat terrain in a wide valley, next to the small lake created by the Vilarinho das Furnas barrage on the Homem river, where we can swim (only for the brave ones during the winter!) but mostly enjoy the beautiful views!

Note: This trail lasts approximately 3h, and is not very demanding, but some areas may be a bit more difficult or slippery due to the rain. It is recommended to use good hiking shoes and clothes.
