Enjoy Serra da Estrela's pure air, green nature & beautiful dark skies where, in a good night, you can see the most stars out of anywhere in Portugal! Translated as the ‘star mountain range’, Serra da Estrela is the highest of its kind in continental Portugal (close to 2000 meters) and is recognised as one of the countries most scenic attractions. It’s also the one of the only places in Portugal where you can find snow – even if it is only 2cm!
The charming villages of this region still retain the very traditional and ancient ways of living, something which is very unique nowadays. And the picturesque views from the highest point in continental Portugal will take your breath away!
